Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide noncombustible wood by impregnating the wood in the fluid formed by dissolving phosphoric acid and barium hydroxide in water and drying the impregnated wood. CONSTITUTION: Noncombustible wood is made by impregnating the wood in chemicals below and drying the impregnated wood: 500-700 g of about 100% phosphoric acid fluid, 250-300 g of about 100% barium hydroxide fluid and about 51 of water. Wood material which is of general wood like cedar is impregnated in the fluid comprising the above chemicals for about 36 hr. and then, dried for about 4 days successively in the summer sunshine. Washing by water of the wood has neither effects on the noncombustible thereof nor damage to the woody feeling and characteristics thereof.
