Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely avoid danger by installing an oxygen gas detector and a hydrogen gas detector in an air exhaust line, installing a gas concentration judging device in an oxidizing agent supply unit which supplies air to a cathode, and stopping cell operation when hydrogen gas exceeded a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A fuel gas supply line 2a through which hydrogen gas is supplied to a gas chamber in an anode 1a and a fuel gas exhaust line 3a through which gas after operation is exhausted are installed in the anode 1a of a fuel cell main body 1. An oxidizing gas supply line 2b through which air is supplied to a gas chamber in a cathode 1b and an oxidizing gas exhaust line 3b through which gas after operation is exhausted are installed in the cathode 1b. Gas supply valves 4a, 4b for each gas chamber are installed, and a hydrogen gas concentration detector 5 and an oxygen gas concentration detector 6 are installed in the exhaust line 3b. A gas concentration judging device 7 which judges a value detected with detectors 5, 6 and a controller 8 which controls a valve 4b are installed to stop the cell main body 1 when a judged value exceeded a specified value.
