Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend usable life and to enhance rising speed of electric charging by incorporating an aliphatic acid metal salt in the surfaces of carrier particles coated with a fluoropolymer. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic charge image developing carrier is obtained by coating a magnetic powder, such as Fe, Ni, ferrite, or Co, with the fluoropolymer, such as polyvinylidene fluoride or polytetrafluoroethylene, and the surface of the carrier contains the metal salt, such as Li, Na, K, Cu, or Ag, of the aliphatic acid, such as stearic acid, caprilic acid, or pelagonic acid, especially, stearic acid in respect of enhancing the rising speed of charging, preferably, in an amount of 0.001-0.04wt.% of the carrier. The diameter of the magnetic particles coated with the resin is, preferably, in the range of 40-200mum.
