Abstract
PURPOSE:To output all inputted signals and print images free of broken parts or voids, by setting the coating width of an electrothermal resistor layer to be greater than a printing width providing the electrothermal resistor layer, which constitutes an electrothermal transfer medium for use on an electrothermal transfer printer. CONSTITUTION:An electrothermal transfer medium 21 is produced in which the coating width (b) of an electrothermal resistor layer 12 is greater than a printing width (a). The transfer medium 21 comprises at least the electrothermal resistor layer 12(22), a base layer 23 and an ink layer 24. The resistor layer 12(22) comprises a thermoplastic organic substance and or a thermosetting organic substance, a conductive substance and some additives or the like. The base layer 23 is a film of a plastic such as polyethylene and polyester. The ink layer 24 comprises a thermoplastic organic substance, a coloring material such as a pigment and a dye, and some additives or the like.
