Description
Claims (10)
- 판독 헤드가 저장 매체상의 위상 필드 및 위치 에러 필드를 통과할 때 상기 판독 헤드에 의하여 생성된 서보 신호를 기초로 하여 저장 디바이스의 상기 저장 매체상의 상기 판독 헤드 위치를 결정하는 방법으로서,(a) 위상 필드 값을 생성하기 위하여 상기 위상 필드와 관련된 서보 신호의 일부분에 대하여 복조 연산 세트를 수행하는 단계;(b) 위치 에러 필드 값을 생성하기 위하여 상기 위치 에러 필드와 관련된 서보 신호의 일부분에 대하여 복조 연산 세트를 수행하는 단계; 및(c) 상기 저장 매체 상의 판독 헤드 위치를 나타내는 위치 에러 추정치를 생성하기 위하여 상기 위치 에러 필드 값을 상기 위상 필드 값으로 나누는 단계를 포함하는 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 판독 헤드는 제 2 위치 에러 필드를 통과하며, 상기 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법은,(d) 제 2 위치 에러 필드 값을 생성하기 위하여 상기 제 2 위치 에러 필드와 관련된 상기 서보 신호의 일부분에 대하여 복조 연산 세트를 수행하는 단계; 및(e) 상기 저장 매체 상의 판독 헤드 위치를 나타내는 제 2 위치 에러 추정치를 생성하기 위하여 상기 제 2 위치 에러 필드 값을 상기 위상 필드 값으로 나누는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 서보 신호의 일부분에 대하여 복조 연산 세트를 수행하는 단계는,(a)(1) 신호 샘플들의 시퀀스를 생성하기 위해 상기 서보 신호의 일부분을 샘플링하는 단계;(a)(2) 교정된 값들의 시퀀스를 생성하기 위해 상기 신호 샘플들의 시퀀스에 교정 값들의 시퀀스를 곱하는 단계; 및(a)(3) 상기 교정된 값들을 상기 교정 값들의 시퀀스에 함께 합산시키는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 3항에 있어서,상기 교정 값들의 시퀀스는 적어도 하나의 제로를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 4항에 있어서,상기 곱하는 단계(a)(2)는 작은 크기의 신호 샘플에 제로인 교정값을 곱하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 4항에 있어서,상기 곱하는 단계(a)(2)는, 신호 샘플이 상기 서보 신호의 피크값 이전(peak shoulder)에서 얻어진 경우 상기 신호 샘플에 제로인 교정값을 곱하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 수행 단계(a)는:(a)(1) 교정된 신호를 생성하기 위해 상기 서보 신호의 일부분에 교정 신호를 곱하는 단계; 및(a)(2) 상기 교정된 신호를 적분하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 제 7항에 있어서,상기 위치 에러 필드 값 및 상기 위상 필드 값은 아날로그 값이며, 상기 위치 에러 필드 값을 상기 위상 필드 값으로 나누는 것은 아날로그 연산인 것을 특징으로 판독 헤드 위치 결정 방법.
- 위치 에러 신호 값을 생성하기 위하여 데이터 저장 디바이스에서 서보 신호 를 복조하는 복조 회로로서 - 상기 서보 신호는 위상 필드 신호와 위치 에러 필드 신호를 포함함 - ,교정된 위상 필드 신호 및 교정된 위치 에러 필드 신호를 생성하기 위하여 상기 위상 필드 신호 및 상기 위치 에러 필드 신호를 수신하고 이들을 적어도 부분적으로 교정할 수 있는 교정 회로;상기 교정 회로에 연결되며, 정규화 팩터를 생성하기 위하여 시간에 따른 상기 교정된 위상 필드 신호의 값들을 합산할 수 있고, 스케일링되지 않은 위치 에러 필드 값을 생성하기 위하여 시간에 따른 상기 위치 에러 필드 신호의 값들을 합산할 수 있는 합산 회로; 및위치 에러 신호 값을 생성하기 위하여, 상기 정규화 팩터 및 상기 스케일링되지 않은 위치 에러 필드 값을 수신할 수 있고, 상기 스케일링되지 않은 위치 에러 필드 값을 상기 정규화된 팩터로 나눌수 있는 제산 회로(division circuit)를 포함하는 서보 신호의 복조 회로.
- 제 9항에 있어서,상기 합산 회로는 아날로그 적분기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 서보 신호의 복조 회로.
