Description
Claims (11)
- 기판과,수지로 이루어지고 완만하게 변형된 4각 기둥의 집합과,상기 4각 기둥의 집합 위에 형성된 금속막을 포함하는 확산 반사판.
- 기판과,수지로 이루어지고 완만하게 변형된 4각 기둥의 집합과,상기 4각 기둥들 사이에 형성된 만곡형 수지막과,상기 4각 기둥의 집합과 상기 만곡형 수지막 위에 형성된 금속막을 포함하는 확산 반사판.
- 기판을 준비하는 공정과,기판 위에 감광성을 가지는 수지막을 형성하는 공정과,포토리소그라피(photolithography)에 의해 이 수지막을 패터닝하여 이산적(離散的)으로 배치된 4각 기둥의 집합을 형성하는 공정과,가열 처리를 실시하여, 개개의 4각 기둥을 완만하게 변형하는 공정과,완만하게 변형된 4각 기둥의 집합 위에 금속막을 형성하는 공정을 포함하는 확산 반사판의 제조 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서, 완만하게 변형된 4각 기둥의 집합 위에 수지를 도포하여, 이산적으로 배치된 각 4각 기둥 사이의 평탄한 간극부를 메워 만곡화(灣曲化)하는 공정을 추가로 포함하는 확산 반사판의 제조 방법.
- 입사측에 배치되는 투명한 제1 기판과, 소정의 간극을 통해 이 제1 기판에 접합되어 반사측에 배치되는 제2 기판과, 이 간극 내에서 제1 기판측에 위치하는 전기 광학층과, 이 간극 내에서 제2 기판측에 위치하는 확산 반사층과, 이 제1 기판 및 제2 기판의 최소한 한쪽에 형성되어 상기 전기 광학층에 전압을 인가하는 전극을 구비한 반사형 표시 장치로서,상기 확산 반사층은 요철(凹凸)이 형성된 수지막과 그 표면에 성막된 금속막으로 이루어지고,미리 간극을 남겨 이산적으로 패터닝된 4각 기둥 형상의 수지막을 리플로(reflow)하여, 완만한 기복(起伏)을 가지는 요철을 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 4각 기둥 형상의 수지막을 리플로한 후 남겨진 간극을 다른 수지막으로 메워 완만한 기복을 가지는 요철을 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 요철은 대략 10。 내지 20。의 경사각을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 4각 기둥은 개개의 4각 기둥 형상의 변이 일정 방향으로 배열되도록 패터닝되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 개개의 상기 4각 기둥은 직사각형의 단면을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 제1 기판측에 편광판이 추가로 배치되어 있는 동시에, 전기 광학층이 전압의 인가상태에 따라 4분의 1 파장판(波長板))으로서 기능하는 액정층인 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
- 제10항에 있어서, 상기 편광판과 상기 액정층과의 사이에 4분의 1 파장판이 추가로 배치되어 있는 동시에, 상기 액정층은 유전이방성(誘電異方性)이 포지티브이고 또한 트위스트 배향(配向)한 네마틱(nematic) 액정층으로 이루어지고, 전압 인가 시 4분의 1 파장판으로서 기능하여, 전압 무인가 시 4분의 1 파장판의 기능을 잃어버리는 것을 특징으로 하는 반사형 표시 장치.
