도 8은 사용자에게 가상 이미지를 표시하도록 구성되는 이동 장치 이미지 디스플레이 시스템의 일 실시예를 나타낸다.

Claims (10)
- 디스플레이 장치로서,
디스플레이 스크린과,
상기 디스플레이 스크린을 통해 이미지를 표시하고, 제1 양의 시각 정보를 포함하는 이미지가 상기 디스플레이 스크린으로부터 제1 겉보기 거리(first apparent distance)에 표시되는 제1 관찰 모드와 제2의 상이한 양의 시각 정보를 포함하는 이미지가 상기 디스플레이 스크린으로부터 제2 겉보기 거리에 표시되는 제2 관찰 모드 사이에서 스위칭하도록 구성되는 이미지 디스플레이 시스템과,
상기 이미지 디스플레이 시스템과 통신하는 제어기
를 포함하고,
상기 제어기는
논리 서브시스템과,
상기 제1 관찰 모드와 상기 제2 관찰 모드 사이에서 스위칭하기 위해 상기 논리 서브시스템에 의해 실행될 수 있는 명령어를 포함하는 데이터 유지 서브시스템
을 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 디스플레이 장치로부터의 사용자의 거리를 감지하도록 구성되는 사용자 근접 검출 시스템을 더 포함하고, 상기 제어기는 상기 디스플레이 장치로부터의 상기 사용자의 상기 거리에 기초하여 상기 제1 관찰 모드와 상기 제2 관찰 모드 사이에서 스위칭하도록 구성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 디스플레이 스크린을 관찰하는 사용자를 향하도록 구성되는 제1 카메라 및 상기 디스플레이 스크린을 관찰하는 사용자로부터 벗어나도록 구성되는 제2 카메라를 더 포함하고, 상기 제어기는 상기 제1 카메라 및 상기 제2 카메라로부터의 데이터에 기초하여 상기 사용자에게 제공되는 이미지를 공간 안정화하도록 구성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제2 관찰 모드는 사용자의 시점에서 관찰 표면 뒤에 위치하는 가상 이미지가 표시되는 가상 관찰 모드를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서,
상기 이미지 디스플레이 시스템은
이미지 디스플레이 장치와,
상기 이미지 디스플레이 장치와 상기 디스플레이 스크린 사이에 광학적으로 배치되는 오목 표면을 갖는 광학 요소와,
상기 이미지 디스플레이 장치와 대향하는 상기 광학 요소 측에 광학적으로 배치되는 반사성 편광기
를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제어기는 소프트웨어 사용자 인터페이스 제어 및 하드웨어 사용자 인터페이스 제어 중 하나 이상을 통해 수신되는 입력에 기초하여 상기 제1 관찰 모드와 상기 제2 관찰 모드 사이에서 스위칭하도록 구성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제2 관찰 모드는 근안 관찰 모드(near-eye viewing mode)인 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 이미지 디스플레이 시스템은 맥스웰 관찰 모드를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 이미지 디스플레이 시스템은 가변 배율 렌즈 시스템을 포함하고, 상기 제어기는 상기 가변 배율 렌즈 시스템의 배율을 변경함으로써 상기 제1 관찰 모드와 상기 제2 관찰 모드 사이에서 스위칭하도록 구성되는 디스플레이 장치.
- 이동 장치에서, 이미지를 표시하는 방법으로서,
사용자로부터 상기 이동 장치까지의 거리를 검출하는 단계와,
상기 거리가 상기 이동 장치로부터의 거리의 제1 범위 내에 있는 경우에, 상기 이미지가 상기 이동 장치의 디스플레이 스크린으로부터 제1 겉보기 거리에 배치되는 제1 관찰 모드에서 상기 이미지를 표시하는 단계와,
상기 거리가 디스플레이 장치로부터의 거리의 제2 범위 내에 있는 경우에, 상기 이미지가 상기 이동 장치의 상기 디스플레이 스크린으로부터 제2 겉보기 거리에 배치되는 제2 관찰 모드에서 상기 이미지를 표시하는 단계
를 포함하는 방법.
