Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil de pliage (100) permettant de plier en deux une bande continue pour former un article absorbant (1), en amenant un bord latéral (10A) de la bande (7) vers un bord latéral opposé (20A) de ladite bande, la bande étant pliée le long d'une ligne de pliage s'étendant dans une direction de transport (MD) de la bande (7). L'appareil de pliage (100) comprend un rouleau de grand diamètre (110) conçu pour comprimer une zone de référence (11) s'étendant de la ligne de pliage jusqu'au bord latéral opposé (20A), une barre de guidage de pliage (130) conçue pour servir de support à la bande (7) au niveau de la ligne de pliage, et un mécanisme de guidage (140) conçu pour guider une zone pliée (12) vers la zone de référence (11), la zone pliée (12) s'étendant de la ligne de pliage au bord latéral (10A). La barre de guidage de pliage (130) comprend une partie coulissante (131) conçue pour permettre à la bande (7) de coulisser sur ladite partie (131). La partie coulissante (131) présente un coefficient de frottement inférieur à 0,4.
