La présente invention concerne de nouvelles plantes présentant une résistance améliorée aux nématodes. La présente invention concerne également des graines et des parties desdites plantes. La présente invention concerne en outre des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de ces graines et plantes. La présente invention concerne aussi un nouvel allèle smd1, qui conduit à une protéine smd1 modifiée associée à une telle résistance améliorée aux nématodes.
