Abstract
The invention relates to polypropylene for producing films, in particular biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films. The polypropylene, according to the invention, satisfies the following characteristics: molecular weight distribution (MWD) in a range of 4.5 to 8.5; content of crystalline fraction with a melting point greater than 178°C, determined by the stepwise isothermal separation method (SSA), of no more than 3.5%, melt flow index - MFI 230°C/2.16 kg, from 3.0 to 4.0 g/10 min. The structural characteristics of the claimed polypropylene enable the production of BOPP films at a line speed of more than 430 m/min without the occurrence of film breakage. The invention also relates to a method for producing polypropylene using suspension technology in a hydrocarbon solvent medium. The polypropylene produced using this technology is characterized by a set of properties necessary for producing BOPP films therefrom with high-quality physical and mechanical characteristics and optical indicators. Furthermore, the invention relates to a composition containing the polypropylene of the invention, at least one layer of which contains the polypropylene of the invention. The films of the invention can be used for the manufacture of packaging, including food packaging, adhesive tapes, metallized films, etc.
