Abstract
The invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to a process for extraction of phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis alga biomass for use as a colorant with antioxidant properties.The process, according to the invention, includes: demineralization of biomass, suspension in distilled water, destruction of cells by double freezing-unfreezing, extraction of suspension by mixing with 10…20% alcohol solution, containing CaCl2 in a concentration of 5…10 g/l and separation of the extract by centrifugation.
