Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a mejoras en método para la fabricación de papel, tal como el papel empleado en hojas de cubierta de tableros de yeso para muros, las mejoras caracterizadas en que el método comprende los pasos de: formar una pasta aguada de hemihidrato de sulfato de calcio con alrededor de 20 a 25 por ciento de sólidos; hidratar la pasta aguada en un reactor con agitación continua a alrededor de 50 grados C a 60 grados C con agitación para suspensión para producir cristales tabulares grandes de dihidrato de sulfato de calcio, con un tamaño medio de partículas, en la dimensión mayor de alrededor de 45 a 350 micras y una relación de dimensiones entre la dimensión mayor y la inmediata inferior de, cuando menos, alrededor de 10:1; agregar los cristales tabulares de dihidrato a la pulpa húmeda para papel en algún momento antes de la formación de la plana.
