Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una forma pura de rapamicina con un contenido total de impurezas de menos de 1.2%; un procedimiento para recuperar y purificar la rapamicina que comprende los pasos de: (a) tratar el caldo de fermentación, extractos o soluciones que contienen rapamicina con un solvente no miscible en agua y la concentración, (b) la adición de un solvente miscible en agua para efectuar la separación de las impurezas que estén presentes; (c) opcionalmente, unir el solvente que contiene el producto del paso (b) con un sólido inerte, lavar el sólido con una base y ácido, seguido por la elusión; (d) someter el eluído del paso (c) o el solvente que contiene el producto del paso (b) a cromatografía en gel de sílice; (e) la cristalización del producto obtenido en el paso (d); (f) someter una solución del producto del paso (e) a integración hidrófoba o cromatografía de fase invertida; y (g) la recristalización para producir rapidamente en una forma sustancialmente pura.
