Abstract
Se describen estrategias de refugio de insectos para el manejo del desarrollo de resistencia de insectos. La presente invención generalmente se relaciona al control de pestes que causan daño a plantas de cultivo, y en particular a plantas de maíz, por sus actividades de alimentación dirigidas al daño de la raíz y más particularmente al control de tales pestes de plantas al exponer las pestes objetivo a semillas o mezclas de semillas que tienen múltiples modos de acción diferentes. El primero de uno o más transgenes y el segundo de uno o más transgenes son cada uno, respectivamente, insecticidas al mismo insecto objetivo pero tienen diferentes modos de acción, y enlazan ya sea semi-competitivamente o no competitivamente a diferentes sitios de enlace en la peste objetivo. Además, también se divulga el tratamiento de tal semilla con un pesticida químico o pesticida asociado con péptido antes de la plantación de la semilla.
