Abstract
La presente invención se relaciona generalmente con el campo de la nutrición. En particular, la presente invención se relaciona con la nutrición de lactantes en el período posnatal y en la etapa temprana de la vida, más particularmente durante el período de edad de 6 a 36 meses o durante una parte del mismo. Una modalidad de la presente invención es un conjunto de composiciones de dieta para niños durante el período de edad de 6 a 36 meses o durante una parte del mismo, en donde el contenido de macronutrientes de las composiciones cambia gradualmente en forma de una línea recta desde una composición que comprende aproximadamente 40-50% de energía que proviene de grasa y aproximadamente 40-49% de energía de carbohidratos para niños en la edad de 6 meses hasta una composición que comprende aproximadamente 30-35% de energía que proviene de grasa y aproximadamente 50-55% de energía de carbohidratos para niños en la edad de 36 meses y su uso para evitar la obesidad durante una etapa posterior en la vida. Otra modalidad se relaciona con una gama de productos de alimentos para bebés, estable en anaquel, que tienen un perfil óptimo de energía y que satisfacen las necesidades nutricionales de un lactante en una etapa específica del desarrollo del lactante.
