Abstract

En algunas modalidades, la presente invención proporciona métodos para manipular enzimas para optimizar su actividad catalítica bajo condiciones ambientales particulares. En algunas modalidades preferidas, la presente invención proporciona métodos para manipular enzimas para optimizar su actividad catalítica y/o estabilidad bajo condiciones ambientales adversas. En algunas modalidades preferidas, la presente invención proporciona métodos para alterar la carga de superficie neta y/o distribución de carga de superficie de enzimas (por ejemplo, metaloproteasas) para obtener variantes de enzima que demuestran desempeño mejorado y/o estabilidad en formulaciones de detergente como se compara con la enzima de partida o precursora.
