Abstract

La presente divulgación se refiere a métodos de tratamiento de pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca con fracción de eyección reducida (HFrEF), con y sin diabetes de tipo 2, con un inhibidor de SGLT2 tal como dapagliflozina. Los métodos desvelados en el presente documento reducen el riesgo de un resultado combinado de un primer episodio de empeoramiento de insuficiencia cardiaca (hospitalización por insuficiencia cardiaca o una visita de urgencias por insuficiencia cardiaca) o muerte por causas cardiovasculares. También puede reducirse cada uno de los tres componentes de este resultado combinado, así como el número total de hospitalizaciones por insuficiencia cardiaca y muertes por causas cardiovasculares. Los inhibidores de SGLT2, tales como dapagliflozina, también pueden reducir un empeoramiento de los síntomas de insuficiencia cardiaca. Los métodos desvelados en el presente documento también pueden mejorar los síntomas de insuficiencia cardiaca, el estado de salud y la calidad de vida.
