Abstract
Un sistema para localización de partes y escaneo de largo alcance de grandes estructuras fabricadas de forma aditiva y un método para usar dicho sistema. En algunas modalidades, el método para localizar y escanear un objeto tridimensional (3D) comprende escanear una primera porción del objeto 3D desde una primera posición a través de un escáner de largo alcance sobre una plataforma móvil, determinar si las porciones adicionales del objeto 3D requieren de escaneo, mover el escáner de largo alcance a través de la plataforma móvil a una segunda posición con base en dicha determinación de que porciones adicionales del objeto 3D requieren de escaneo, y alinear cada porción del objeto 3D escaneado.
