Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento mejorado para moldear una estructura espumada, el cual comprende expeler de un recipiente cerrado una emulsión en un líquido orgánico o de un polímero propulsor que, comprende de un líquido orgánico el cual es líquido a la temperatura y presión atmosférica; un aditivo, un polímero sintético formador de película que se selecciona de polímeros y copolímeros de alquil acrilato y alquil metacrilato; copolímeros de compuestos acrílicos y vinílicos; polímeros de vinilo; este compuesto de ésteres de celulosa y polímeros de silicón; y un propulsor de líquido que hierve por abajo de 7.2°C a presión atmosférica, en una fase líquida orgánica contínua y una fase propulsora discontínua, caracterizado porque el líquido orgánico comprende la fase líquida orgánica contínua, la cual se constituye por desde aproximadamente 10 hasta aproximadamente 75 por ciento en peso de la emulsión total, estando en solución en la fase propulsora el polímero sintético formador de película la fase propulsora comprende desde aproximadamente 10 hasta aproximadamente 70 por ciento en peso del polímero disuelto, y desde aproximadamente 90 hasta aproximadamente 25 por ciento en peso de la emulsión total; el propulsor es retenido en la fase líquida a una presión mayor que la atmosférica para formar por la evaporación rápida del propulsor a temperatura y presión atmosférica una estructura espumada, voluminosa, coherente compuesta de un molde o matriz de un polímero sintético que contiene celdas o poros; el aditivo se dispersa o disuelve en la emulsión, y se deposita con el líquido orgánico y el aditivo en las celdas o poros del mismo, cuando el propulsor se volatiliza y se elimina en forma líquida de las celdas o poros de la estructura; y se volatiliza el propulsor a temperatura y presión atmosférica para espumar el polímero sintético y formar una estructura espumada que contiene el líquido orgánico en las celdas o posos del mismo.
