Abstract
El sistema desarenador automatico, consiste en una estructura de concreto muy parecida a la de los desarenadores tradicionales, la cual tiene construida una camara de sedimentacion, que tiene en el fondo una camara de extraccion de arena y que aloja una tolva colectora de arena, que tiene un sistema sensor que activa el funcionamiento de una bomba en funcion de la diferencia de peso de la arena y el liquido desplazado; en esta tolva se desposita la arena que es extraida periodicamente, mediante un sistema de extraccion , formado por una boquilla y una tobera instaladas en la tolva colectora, donde se genera un chorro liquido a gran velocidad, por el bombeo de agua clarificada, que arrastra agua, lodo y arena, que son conducidos a un tanque de lavado de arena; el paro lo determina el nivel de llenado del tanque de separacion y lavado de arena, mediante un mecanismo flotador, el cual controla la sincronizacion de abertura y cierre de valvulas especiales tipo papalote, con lo que se logra separar la arena, retornando al proceso en forma diluida el lodo organico que fue extraido junto con la arena; las lineas de tuberia estan provistas de un sistema de sujecion, el cual permite que las tuberias ajusten su altura conforme se va desalojando la arena; este proceso esta basado en la diferencia de velocidades de sedimentacion entre las particulas organicas y la arena, para lograr su separacion.
