AS A PRECOATED METAL SHEET HAVING EXCELLENT PRESS FORMABILITY AND A PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF, THERE IS PROVIDED A PRECOATED METAL SHEET HAVING EXCELLENT PRESS FORMABILITY, COMPRISING A METAL SHEET (1) HAVING ON ONE SURFACE OR BOTH SURFACES THEREOF A CHEMICAL CONVERSION COATING LAYER (2) SIMULTANEOUSLY CONTAINING, AS SOLID CONTENTS, A SILANE COUPLING AGENT, FINE PARTICLES OF SILICA AND AT LEAST EITHER ONE OF TANNIN AND A TANNIC ACID, AND FURTHER HAVING THEREON A COATING LAYER CONTAINING FROM 1 TO 140 PARTS BY MASS OF AN ALUMINUM PHOSPHATE-BASE PIGMENT PER 100 PARTS BY MASS OF RESIN SOLID CONTENTS, AND A PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF. IT IS PREFERRED THAT THE CHEMICAL CONVERSION COATING LAYER FURTHER CONTAINS A POLYESTER RESIN AND THE COATING LAYER FURTHER CONTAINS AN ANTIRUST PIGMENT. THE ALUMINUM PHOSPHATE-BASE PIGMENT IS OPTIMALLY ALUMINUM DIHYDROGENTRIPOLYPHOSPHATE AND THE ANTIRUST PIGMENT IS OPTIMALLY CALCIUM ION-EXCHANGING SILICA.
