Abstract

A protective sleeve includes a thermoplastic adhesive tube (11) for receiving an optical fiber fusion-spliced part (23), a first tensile strength member (12) including glass or ceramics as a main ingredient, a second tensile strength member (13) including metal as a main ingredient, and a heat-shrinkable protective tube (10) for receiving the adhesive tube (11), the first tensile strength member (12) and the second tensile strength member (13). One surface (12a) of the first tensile strength member (12) is formed in a flat surface and the other surface (12b) of the first tensile strength member (12) is formed in a curved surface with a circularly arcuate cross section, and the adhesive tube (11) is provided at a side of the one surface (12a) of the first tensile strength member, and volume of the second tensile strength member (13) is smaller than that of the first tensile strength member (12).
