Abstract
Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte og et apparat for å implementere nettverksplanlegning i et radiosystem i et ønsket område. For å bestemme dek- ningsområdet for en sender (100, 116) i systemet, benyttes et vektorkart som be- skriver senderens omgivelser og som omfatter en beskrivelse av bygningene og overflatene som reflekterer radiobølger i området. Senderens signalstyrke måles i forskjellige punkter i det ønskede området, l løsningen ifølge oppfinnelsen velges et subsett blant punktene i området, og banesvekning bestemmes mellom alle subsett-punkter ved å benytte en stråleopptrekkingsmetode, og de beregnede verdiene lagres i et minne. Når det utføres nettverksplanlegning i det ønskede om- rådet, plasseres en sender (100, 116) og en mottaker (102) i de ønskede punkter i området, og et gitt antall av de mest signifikante signalbaner blant de mulige sig- nalforplantningsbaner mellom senderen og mottakeren, blir søkt etter ved å be- nytte verdiene som er lagret i minnet, og senderens signalstyrke blir bestemt på signalbanene bestemt i mottakerens plasseringspunkt ved å benytte stråleopp- trekkingsmetoden. Fremgangsmåten og apparatet ifølge oppfinnelsen kan reduse- re beregningstiden som er nødvendig i nettverksplanlegning.
