Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte til deteksjon av objekter, fortrinnsvis fisk, fra sonardata. Ekkosignaler fra gjentatte sonarmålinger digitaliseres og registreres i en todimensjonal dataoppstilling der ekkoavstand, alternativt signalets gangtid, utgjør en dimensjon og målingsnummeret, alternativt målingstidspunktet, utgjør den andre dimensjonen. Ved ønsket størrelse av dataoppstillingen utføres todimensjonal filtrering, adaptiv terskling og morfologisk behandling slik at det kan fremstilles et ekkogram med mindre støy og sikrere påvisning av ønskede objekter. Ytterligere formanalyse forbedrer påvisningen ytterligere.
