Abstract

Dcke-karbon metallbasert anode i en celle for elektrolytisk utvinning av aluminium, omfattende et elektrisk ledende metallsubstrat bestandig mot høy temperatur, hvor overflaten blir passiv og i hovedsak inert mot elektrolytten, og et belegg vedheftet på metallsubstratet og som gjør overflaten på anoden elektrokjemisk aktiv for oksidasjon av oksygenioner til stede ved elektrolyttgrenseflaten. Metallsubstratet kan velges blant nikkel, kobolt, krom, molybden, tantal og lantanrekken. De aktive bestanddeler i belegget er for eksempel oksider slik som spineller eller perovskitter, oksyfluorider, fosfider eller karbider, især ferritter. De aktive bestanddeler kan belegges på substratet fra en slurry eller suspensjon inneholdende kolloidalt materiale og det elektrokjemisk aktive materiale.
