Abstract
l en fremgangsmåte for bestemmelse av strømningshastighet for et fluid som strømmer i en kanal (2), hvor fluidet utgjøres av en væske eller en gass, sendes to pulsformede, oscillerende signaler gjennom mediet, med et signal rettet mot (14), og det andre signalet rettet med (12) fluidets strømningsretning (4). De utsendte signalene mottas, og strømningshastigheten bestemmes ved hjelp av faseforskyvningen mellom de mottatte, pulsformede signalene, bevirket av fluidets strømning. Faseforskyvning (20) mellom signalene bestemmes mens det kompenseres for oppholdstiden for de pulsformede, oscillerende signalene i fluidet.
