Abstract

I en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av en jemdekstran-forbindelse for anvendelse i parenteral behandling av jemmangel hos mennesker eller dyr, blir en stabil forbindelse med ønsket relativt lav molekylvekt fremskaffet ved først anvendelse av hydrogenering og så oksydering for å omdanne reduserende terminale grupper på dekstranmolekylet før reaksjon med jernet. Ved å variere forholdet av hydrogenerte grupper til oksygenerte grupper kan den gjennomsnittlige molekylvekten til den resulterende jemdekstran-forbindelsen bli variert.
