Abstract

En plateformet optisk databærer (1) har et informasjonsopptegnelsessjikt, på hvis overflate det er anordnet lagringssoner for digital informasjon. Databæreren har en gjennomgående åpning for et opptakselement i en utlesings- og/eller innskrivnings-innretning. For å øke komforten ved anordningen av særlig et antall slike databærere eksempelvis i en veske, foreslås det at databærerens tykkelse (4) skal være mindre enn tykkelsen til en standardisert databærer av DVD-typen og større enn summen av tykkelsene til informasjonsopptegnelsessjiktet på en standardisert databærer av DVD-typen og et minimalt nødvendig bærersjikt. Dessuten foreslås det en adapter for opptak av den beskrevne databærer. Det foreslås således en databærer som er fullt ut kompatibel med de over hele verden anvendte formater: DVD-ROM eller DVD-video, kredittkort, chipkort, bankkort med magnetstripe og smartkort (eksempelvis telefonkort). Det vil si: Informasjoner på den nye databærer kan oppfattes med standardiserte DVD-løpeverk, magnetstriper eller chip-leseapparater.
