Abstract

Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for å forbedre separasjonseffektiviteten av gjenværende fast materiale fra den flytende fasen av et vandig syrehydrolysat av et naturlig forekommende polysakkarid omfattende oppløste sukkere, og gjenværende syre hvori ett flokkuleringsmiddel (-midler) tilsettes til den vandige blandingen i en effektiv mengde, og en fremgangsmåte for å fremstille fermenteringsprodukter som omfatter trinnene (1) hydrolysering av et partikkelformig, polysakkaridbasert, planteavledet materiale i et surt medium, og derved dannelse av en vandig blanding omfattende oppløst sukker og fast materiale, (ii) den vandige blandingen underkastes ett eller flere separasjonstrinn hvori fastmaterialet fjernes fra den vandige fasen, (iii) justering av pH av den oppnådde, vandige fasen til en pH på minst 4, (iv) fermentering av oppløste sukkere av den vandige fasen ved hjelp av en mikroorganisme for å fremstille et fermenteringsprodukt, (v) isolering av fermenteringsproduktet, hvori minst ett separasjonstrinn i trinn (ii) et flokkuleringsmiddel tilsettes til den vandige blandingen i en effektiv mengde.
