Abstract
En silduk av vevd metalltråd er beskrevet hvori i det minste én finmasket duk ligger over en grovmasket, bakenforliggende duk og en ekstra, grovmasket duk er festet over den finmaskede duken, som har maskevidde og metalltrådstørrelse i det minste valgt for generelt å forhindre relativt store, abrasive partikler i å komme i kontakt med den finmaskede duken. To finmaskede duker kan befinne seg mellom de grovmaskede dukene. I én sil er den bakenforliggende duken 30 masker pr. tomme x 0,280 mm i diameter S/S metalltråd, den øvre finmaskede duken er 180 masker pr. tomme x 0,030 mm i diameter S/S metalltråd, den nedre finmaskede duken er 160 masker pr. tomme x 0,036 mm i diameter S/S metalltråd, og den ekstra, øvre duken er 30 x 60 masker pr. tomme x 0,160 mm i diameter S/S metalltråd. En fremgangsmåte for å danne en slik sil er beskrevet hvor dukene i tur er lagt over en stiv ramme til hvilken de er festet og stramningen i metalltråddukene er oppnådd ved anvendelse av pneumatisk drevne sylindre som virker på klemmer som griper kantene til dukene. Alle sylindrene har samme størrelse og forskjellige stramninger påføres dukene ved å tilføre luft med forskjellig trykk til sylindrene som påvirker de forskjellige dukene. Spesielt er en fremgangsmåte beskrevet for å danne en silduk av vevd metalltråd som vil stå imot meget abrasive, store partikler slik som oppnådd ved å bore gjennom Utsira-sand, hvor en holderamme er anbrakt i en oppspenningsinnretning, en grovmasket, bakenforliggende duk er strukket over rammen og festet mellom oppspenningsklemmer langs alle fire kanter og deretter strammet ved å bevege alle klammene relativt utover med pneumatiske sylindre. En finmasket metalltrådduk er deretter strukket over den første duken og på samme måte strammet ved hjelp av et andre sett klemmer og sylindre. En ekstra, grovmasket duk er deretter på samme måte strukket over den finmaskede duken og strammet ved hjelp av et tredje sett klemmer og sylindre. Deretter er dukene festet til holderammen under trykk. Etter opphevelse av trykket, åpning av oppspenningsklemmene, og trimming av overflødig metalltrådduk tilbake til rammen, kan den ferdige silen fjernes fra oppspenningsinnretningen. En andre finmasket duk kan legges over den første finmaskede duken før den øvre, grovmaskede duken påføres, og de to finmaskede dukene kan klemmes ved anvendelse av samme sett klemmer og sylindre.
