Abstract

Et nettverk undersøkes ved å kjøre oppgaveprogrammer og evaluere resultatene fra oppgaveprogrammene. Oppgaveprogrammer er verktøy som er innrettet for å innhente informasjon om en gitt nettverksanordning. En tjeneste er innrettet for å koordinere oppsett av kjøretidspunkt, kjøring samt innsamling og aggregering av data for hvert oppgaveprogram over uensartede nettverk, for eksempel flere domener. Hvert oppgaveprogram kjører på et fastsatt tidspunkt og leverer resultater til en parser. Parseren formaterer resultatene og leverer de formaterte dataene til tjenesten. Tjenesten lagrer de innsamlede dataene i en database. En klient kan skedulere og/eller betrakte resultatene av revisjoner ved å kommunisere med tjenesten. De innsamlede dataene kan bli sammenliknet med og filtrert i henhold til regelbaserte maler som definerer akseptable anordningskonfigurasjoner. Rapporter kan bli generert basert på malene slik at en klient kan evaluere resultater fra oppgaveprogrammer kjørt over hele nettverket.
