Som reaksjon på en kommando eller melding for mykoverlevering av abonnentenheten fra den gitte basestasjonen til en annen basestasjon, gjør abonnentenheten en grovtidsstyringsjustering til tidsstyringen av det kodede signalet. Abonnentenheten kan foreta fintidsstyringsjusteringer på grunnlag av tilbakekobling fra den basestasjonen som kontrollerer tidsstyringen. Flere basestasjoner kan tilveiebringe effektstyringstilbakekobling til abonnentenheten.
