Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for behandling av, i avfallsvannrensing, slam inneholdende organisk materiale, toverdig jern og fosfor, i hvilke slammet behandles ved 0-100°C med en syre med en pH på 1-5 for oppløsning av toverdig jern og fosfor fra stammet, slammet forsynes med en oksidant valgt fra hy- drogenperoksid og perforbindelser, toverdig jern oksideres ved Fentons reaksjon til treverdig jern, og (i) treverdig jern som utfelles som treverdig jemfosfat, (ii) frie radikaler med en deodoriserings- og saneringseffekt som dannes ved Fentons reaksjon, slammet avvannes deretter ved en pH på høyst 7, og den vandige løsningen som oppnås i awanningen resirkuleres til avfallsvannrensing. Fremgangsmåten er karakterisert ved at slammet som behandles gjøres slik at det inneholder oppløst jern og fosfor ved et molart forhold Fe:P på mer enn 1:1.
