Abstract

Oppfmnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av (4-hydroksy-6-okso-tefrahydro- pyran-2-yl)-acetonitril fra 6-X-substituert-metyl-4-hydroksy-tefrahydro-pyran-2-on, hvori X står for en forlatende gruppe, ved å reagere 6-Xsubstituert-metyl-4-hydroksy-tefrahydro-pyran-2-on med et cyanidion i vann og ved påfølgende senking av pHen til en pH mellom 0 og 5. (4-Hydroksy-6-okso- tefrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-acetonitril og andre forbindelser som kan oppnås fra (4-hydroksy-6-okso- tefrahydro-pyran-2-yl)-acetonitril kan egnet anvendes i fremstillingen av et farmasøytisk preparat, mer spesielt i fremstillingen av statiner, mer spesielt i fremstillingen av Atorvastatine eller et salt derav, for eksempel dets kalsiimisalt. Oppfirmelsen vedrører også (4-hydroksy-6-okso-tetrahydro-pyran-2-yl)- acetonitril og andre forbindelser som kan oppnås derfra.
