Det er beskrevet anvendelse av alkoksylerte dendrimerer med en molekylvekt fra 2 400 til 100 000 g/mol, som er alkoksylert med C2-C4-alkylenoksydgrupper eller en blanding av slike alkylenoksydgrupper, slik at den alkoksylerte dendrimeren oppviser en alkoksyleringsgrad fra 1 til 100 aUtylenoksydenheter per fli OH-gruppe, for spaltning av olje/vann-emulsjoner i mengder på 0,0001 til 5 vekt% på basis av oljeiimholdet av emulsjonen som skal spaltes.
