Abstract

Apparat for produksjon av Ti ved Ca reduksjon ifølge oppfinnelsen inkluderer en reaksjonstank (1) som inneholder et smeltet salt hvori et smeltet salt CaCl2 inneholdes og hvori Ca er oppløst, en elektrolysecelle (2) inneholdende et smeltet salt som inneholder CaCl2, og et kontinuerlig legeme (5) som er bevegelig konstruert mens en del av det kontinuerlige legemet (5) er neddykket i det smeltede salt i reaksjonstanken og/eller elektrolysecellen. I fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen for produksjon av Ti ved Ca reduksjon elektrolyseres det smeltede salt i elektrolysecellen for å generere Ca på katodesiden og som transporteres til reaksjonstanken mens det er avsatt på og hefter til det kontinuerlige legemet, og TiCl4 tilføres til reaksjonstanken for å generere Ti. Oppfinnelsen muliggjør at tilførselstakten av TiCl4 som et råmateriale kan økes og kontinuerlig produksjon gjennomføres, mens Ca forbrukt i TiCl4 reduksjonsreaksjonen tillates etterfylt ved elektrolyse av CalCl2, noe som viser seg å ha en økonomisk fordel, slik at den blir midler for effektiv og lønnsom produksjon av høyrent metallisk Ti for videre anvendelse.
