Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for å øke cetantallet av en dieselbrenselblanding som inneholder en større andel av et brensel på dieselbasis, for å opp nå et ønsket cetantall X. Fremgangsmåten er kjennetegnet ved at det til basisbrenselet tilsettes et kvantum x av en fettsyrealkylester (FAAE) som har et cetantall B som er høyere enn cetantallet A for basisbrenselet, hvor x er lavere enn den mengde av FAAE-additivet som det ville være nødvendig å tilsette til basisbrenselet for å oppnå et cetantall X, dersom lineære blanderegler hadde vært gjeldende, og konsentrasjonen av FAAE i den totale brenselblanding er fra 0,05 til 25 vol%, og det avledede cetantall (IP 498/03) for dieselbrenselblandingen,. som et resultat av bruken av FAAE-additivet i blandingen, er 50 eller høyere. Anvendelse av et FAAE-additiv i en dieselbrenselblanding for det formål å redusere mengden av cetanforbedrende additiver i blandingen.
