Abstract

Det beskrives fremgangsmåter, systemer og utstyr for prognose eller evaluering av behandling av faste tumorer. Genmarkører som er prognostiske for faste tumorer kan identifiseres ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse. Hver genmarkør har endrede ekspresjonsmønstre i PBMC'er fra pasienter med fast tumor etter initiering av en anti-kreftbehandling og størrelsene av disse endringene er korrelert med kliniske resultater for disse pasientene. I én utførelsesform blir en Cox proporsjonal hazard modell anvendt for å bestemme korrelasjonene mellom kliniske resultater for RCC-pasienter og genekspresjons endringer i PBMC'er for disse pasientene under forløpet av en CCI-779 behandling. Ikke-begrensende eksempler på gener identifisert ved Cox-modellen er vist i Tabellene 4A, 4B, 5A og 5B. Disse genene kan anvendes som surrogatmarkører for prognose av RCC. De kan også anvendes som farmakogenomiske indikatorer for effektiviteten av CCI-779 eller andre anti-kreft medikamenter.
