Abstract
Det beskrives et quenchesystem for avkjøling og/eller rensing av metallurgiske gasser som føres i medstrøm med en syreholdig væske, og særlig svovelsyre, og som inkluderer et gassinnløp (51) gjennom hvilket gassene mates til fra toppen, en ringkanal (55) som forløper den indre omkrets av en øvre venturidel (52) over hvis indre overløpsvegg (57) den syreholdige væske strømmer over inn i den øvre venturidel (52), og der det er tilveiebrakt laterale dyser (58) over ringkanalen (55), gjennom hvilke ytterligere syreholdig væske innføres. For å oppnå en klar separering mellom veggdelene av venturidelen som eksponeres til tørre/varme eller til våte/kalde betingelser er den indre diameter (DI) av den øvre venturidel (52) større enn den innvendige diameter (DI) av gassinnløpet (5 l).
