Abstract

Nukleinsyremolekyler ble isolert fra Sorangium cellulosum som koder for polypeptider som er nødvendige for biosyntesen av epotilon. Det er omtalt metoder for fremstillingen av epotilonet i rekombinante verter transformert med gener ifølge oppfinnelsen. Epotilonet kan på denne måten bli fremstilt i mengder som er store nok for å muliggjøre rensning av disse og anvendelse i farmasøytiske formuleringer slik som for behandlingen av cancer.
