Abstract

En anordning og en fremgangsmåte er avdekket for oppheving av virvelindusert vibrasjon (VIV) på et neddykket langstrakt element, så som et marint stigerør. Likeså avdekket er et marint stigerør som har VIV-opphevende bestanddeler. De VIV-opphevende bestanddelene omfatter mangfoldige periferiske samsvarsbrytende ringer ved intervaller langs elementets lengde, idet hver ring omfatter mangfoldige virvelutkoplende bestanddeler ved intervaller rundt elementet. Ringen kan for eksempel innta formen av en klemme (10) brukt for å lokalisere kledningsenheter (108). Den kan imidlertid alternativt være en løs ring montert på elementet, eller kan omfatte atskilte bestanddeler ved intervaller rundt omkretsen av elementet.
