Master bestående av to profiler med innbyrdes parallell avstand er kjent. Slike master har imidlertid ofte ikke tilstrekkelig bøyestivhet, spesielt i forbindelse med høye mastkonstruksjoner. Oppfinnelsen går ut på å fremskaffe en særlig bøyestiv mast med spesielt god aerodynamisk effekt. Det blir foreslått å utforme begge mastprofiler (1) på en slik måte at innsiden av begge profilflåtene (2) har et konkavt forløp, altså at mellomrommet mellom dem er buet. Når fremre del av seilet (19) holdes mest mulig stramt og uten utbuling fra masten, kan man gå svært høyt opp mot vinden.
