Abstract

Dielektroforetiske oppsamlingshastigheter av mikro- organismer eller andre levende eller ikke-levende dielektrisk polariserbare partikler i suspensjon i en væske etableres ved å føre suspensjonen forbi elektroder som er tilført energi for å danne et ikke-uniformt, vekslende elektrisk felt i suspensjonen, avslutte energitilføringen til elektrodene etter en på forhånd bestemt tid for å frigjøre partiklene som er oppsamlet fra suspensjonen, og nedstrøms for elektrodene å måle pulsen av frigjorte partikler som et mål for graden av pårtikkeloppsamling under energitilføring til elektro- dene. Gjentatte målinger ved forskjellige feltfre- kvenser muliggjør etablering av et oppsamligshastighets- spektrum og karakterisering eller identifisering av partiklene skal undersøkes, under referanse til kjente spektra fra kjente partikler.
