Abstract

Teknikk for styring og overvåking av sambandet mellom elektroniske multimediasignaler av kategori audio, video, og/ eller data. Teknikken er knyttet til et system med et nett (108) og flere endestasjoner ED tilkoplet nettet. En ny type multimediaformidler MMS er koplet til nettet og utrustet for å utnytte dette slik at multimediasignaler kan utveksles mellom flere endestasjoner (ED), slik at det dannes en multimediakonferanse. For-midleren (MMS) vil uavhengig sette opp en konferanse, hvorved et reservasjonssystem som brukes av eksisterende multimedia-konferansesystemer ikke lenger trengs. j Konferansen initieres av "et multimedia-endepunkt" som er utrustet med et bruker-grensesnitt for å kode brukerinngangen som BAS-signaler. MMS har respons overfor BAS •'TF og de kommandoer denne sender ut via ; j endestasjonene, for å implementere multi-mediakonferanser.
