Abstract
En metode for å redusere eller forhindre progressjonen av HIV infeksjon i et HIV-eksponert individ, og forhindre HIV-infeksjon i et individ som har en risiko for HIV-. i. infeksjon, omfatter tilveiebringing av antistoffantigen kompleks eller. antistoff:antigen:komplementkompleks til individet i titere som er tilstrekkelig for på konkurrerende måte å inhibere HIV-komplekscr fra og binde celler via Fc reseptorer eller komplementreseptorer i lymfoid vev. Denne metoden anvender antistoffer som blir bundet til cellulære antigener for å danne antigen:antistoff komplekser og/eller antigen:antistoff:komplementkomplekser, som igjen inhiberer eller forhindrer bindingen av HIV:antistoff komplekser eller HIV:antistoff:komplementkomplekser eller HIV:komplementkomplekser til cellene i lymfoid vev. Ved å hemme konsentrasjonen. i av HIV komplekser bundet til lymfevev reduseres belastningen av viralt infiserte celler. og øker effektiviteten til anti-retrovirale midler og øker virus inaktiveringen i blodstrømmen. Den reduserte konsentrasjonen eller fraværet av HIV i lymfevev hindrer infeksjon av CD4+ T celler deri.
