Det er et formål med den foreliggende oppfinnelse å tilveiebringe en jernbasert Si-Mn-legering eller en jernbasert Si-Mn-Ni-legering som lett kan knuses og som kan fremstilles i stor mengde, samt et legeringspulver derav;. en jernbasert Si-Mn-Ni-legering med god knusbarhet og et legeringspulver derav, omfattende:. C: 0,40-1,20 vekt%, Si: 5,0-12,0 vekt%, Mn: 19,0-42,0 vekt%, eller Ni: ikke mer enn 30 vekt%, idet resten er Fe, hvor følgende likning er oppfylt: Si > 11,89 - 2,92 C - 0,077 Mn, Vickers-hardhet (Hv) > 550, og areal-andel av dendrittstruktur < 50%;en jernbasert Si-Mn-Ni-legering med god knusbarhet og et legeringspulver derav, omfattende: C: 0,40-1,20 vekt%,. Si: 5,0-12,0 vekt%,. Mn: 19,0-42,0 vekt%, eller Ni: ikke mer enn 30 vekt%, idet resten er Fe, hvor følgende likning er oppfylt: Si < 8,3 C + 0,14 Mn, og relativ permeabilitet (n) < 1,10.
