Abstract

Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører generelt kjernemagnetiske resonans- teknikker (NMR) for både spektroskop! og avbildning. Mer spesielt vedrører fore- liggende oppfinnelse fremgangsmåter hvor hyperpolariserte edelgasser (f.eks. Xe og He) blir brukt til å forsterke og forbedre NMR og MRI. l tillegg er de hyperpola- riserte gassløsninger ifølge oppfinnelsen nyttige både in vitro og in vivo for å stu- dere et systems dynamikk eller struktur. Brukt i forbindelse med biologiske syste- mer, enten in vivo eller in vitro, er det innenfor oppfinnelsens ramme å målrette den hyperpolariserte gass og levere den til spesielle områder innenfor systemet.
