Abstract

Det tilveiebringes en fremgangsmåte for å redusere mengden av en avfallskomponent til stede i et hydrokarbonfluid produsert fra en undergrunnsformasjon via et borehull dannet i undergrunnsformasjonen, hvor hydrokarbonfluidet strømmer i en fluidstrøm gjennom borehullet. Fremgangsmåten omfatter a) å indusere minst en andel av avfallskomponenten til å beveges inn i et andre fluid til stede i fluidstrømmen; b) å separere ut det andre fluid med minst en andel av avfallskomponenten innbefattet i seg, fra hydrokarbonfluidet; og c) å avhende det andre fluid med avfallskomponenten innbefattet i seg ved å injisere den inn i undergrunnsformasjonen via minst en av enten borehullet og et annet borehull dannet i undergrunnsformasjonen.
