Abstract

The invention relates to an antiseptic neem-based soap and its production process. The antiseptic neem soap helps fight bacteria and microscopic fungi growing on the skin. The soap according to the invention is manufactured by a process which consists of first dissolving soda in water and letting the solution stand until it cools to 40°C. Then, the neem oil, shea oil, unrefined palm oil, and palm kernel oil are mixed. The soda solution and the oil solution are mixed in a steel container. Once the desired consistency is obtained, the perfume, sugar, almonds, and neem leaves are added and the mixing continues. The resulting homogeneous mixture is poured into molds. The initial blocks removed from the mold are cut into the desired sizes.

The present invention relates to an antiseptic soap based on cold obtained neem.

Neem-based antiseptic soap is obtained mainly from the oil of this plant. The latter named “neem”, or “neem tree” or according to the scientific nomenclature Azadirachta indica, is native to India. In Cameroon, it is present mainly in the Far North and the North of the country. The oil and the leaves have been used for millennia to treat microscopic fungi that give rise to fungal infections of the skin. Extracts from the oil-rich seeds have been used as a source of medicines, soaps, toothpastes and products for various purposes. Neem has a great antifungal and antibacterial power so that it is used in the composition of many products. To this end, several patents were filed in the early 1970s on products based on neem extracts in Europe and the United States. And so far, we have not yet observed a soap whose main material is neem oil.

The soap according to the invention is a solid product composed of amphiphilic molecules obtained by chemical reaction between a strong base (sodium hydroxide) and the fatty acids contained in the mixture of oils used.

Its amphiphilic nature gives it characteristic properties such as foam formation and emulsion stabilization useful for washing. It is produced cold and has the advantage of retaining the properties of the oils from which it comes.

THE COMPOSITION OF THE SOAP:

Neem-based solid soap is composed of the following elements:

THE SOAP MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

Neem-based antiseptic soap is obtained by cold saponification.

Indeed, we first prepare the soda solution by dissolving the soda in water and letting it stand until it cools (40°C), we have the first solution (I).

Beside, in another jar, the fat is prepared by mixing oils and heating it slightly in a bain-marie until the temperature is around 40°C, this for a thermal balance between the soda solution and that of the oils. We have solution (2): it will be a question of mixing neem oil, shea oil, unrefined palm oil, palm kernel oil.

Then we pour our solution (1) into the solution (2) and we turn quickly in the same direction until the appearance of the first trace. The mixture is enriched by gradually adding the almond and neem leaf powders, the sugar, the perfume. We homogenize everything. Then the mixture is poured into a mold.

The demoulding is done after 24H or 48H depending on the ambient temperature which can favor the hardening of the soap for its demoulding.

After demoulding, we move on to the cure which will last a minimum of 4 weeks.

Thus we obtain the neem soap.

The present invention is in no way limited to those of its embodiments described above; but includes all the variants which may come to the mind of a person skilled in the art, without departing from the framework or the scope of the present invention.

1) Neem-based antiseptic soap, characterized in that it is composed of 24.40% neem oil, 8.54% shea oil, 6.71% palm kernel oil, 21.35% crude palm oil, 1.14% neem leaf powder, 0.91% neem kernel powder, 4.57% white sugar powder, 20 44% distilled water, 8.84% caustic soda, 3.05% perfume. 2) Antiseptic soap based on neem, characterized in that the process consists in dissolving the soda in water and letting it stand until it cools (40°C), we have the first solution (1). Next, in another jar, mix the oils and heat it slightly in a bain-marie until the temperature is around 40°C, this for a thermal balance between the soda solution and that of the oils. We have solution (2): it will be a question of mixing neem oil, shea oil, unrefined palm oil, palm kernel oil. Then we pour our solution (1) into the solution (2) and we turn quickly in the same direction until the appearance of the first trace. We gradually add the almond and neem leaf powders, the sugar, the perfume for the neem soap. We homogenize everything. Then we move on to molding. 3) Antiseptic soap according to claim 1, characterized in that it is obtained cold and whose main material is neem oil. 4) Antiseptic soap according to claim 2, characterized in that the powdered almonds and neem leaves increase its antiseptic power.
