A soleplate of an iron for ironing, having approximately the shape of an isosceles triangle with rounded sides and corners, wherein the sides on their rear sections near the base of the triangle are parallel, and having through holes for water for moistening, characterized in that on the surface of the soleplate, in the region of its top, there is a shallow recess with a flat surface, the first part of which, located closer to the top of the soleplate, has sides approximately parallel to the edges of the iron soleplate, forming the shape of an angle with an arc-shaped top, and the second part of the recess, of a lower height than the first part of the recess, has the shape of an angle directed opposite to the first part and with sides extending from the ends of the sides forming the first part of the recess and connected at the top by an arc, wherein in the surface of this recess there are arranged, along the sides its higher, front part and near both arched tops, there are small round, trough-shaped depressions with a water passage hole in the middle, and going backwards, towards the base of the triangular shape of the foot, there are two rows of round, trough-shaped depressions arranged along each lateral edge of the foot, parallel to it, wherein the depressions in the outer rows, located closer to the edges of the foot, have a larger diameter than the depressions in the inner rows, further away from the edges, and in the middle of the round depressions in both rows, apart from the two closest to each other depressions of the inner rows, there are water passage holes, wherein the last, the most distant from each other and from the top of the foot, the holes of the outer rows have an elongated wedge-shaped ending, while in the area in the middle of the soleplate, between the inner rows of circular recesses and in their extension, there are narrow, elongated recesses running parallel to each other and in the longitudinal direction of the soleplate, decreasing in length as you move away from the centre of the soleplate towards its lateral edges and with a wedge-shaped ending at one rear end, wherein the two outer elongated recesses have water passage holes at their one front end, as shown in the attached drawings Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 Rowenta Werke GmbHFig. 1Fig. 2
